Jamie Donaldson To Defend Badwater Title
We just received word that defending Women's Badwater Ultra Marathon winner and Drymax athlete Jamie Donaldson has just been accepted to defend her crown at the 2009 event that takes place on July 13th and will finish on July 14th after covering 135 miles through the blistering conditions of Death Valley to the Mount Whitney Portal.
Jamie dominated the women's race in 2008 with an unbelievable time of 26 hours, 51 minutes, 33 seconds shattering the previous record by over an hour. Jamie finished the overall race in 3rd place behind Jorge Pacheco and Akos Konya and ahead of Dean Karnazes and Pam Reed all without a single blister on her feet. Her victory was especially sweet after her horrible 2007 experience when her feet were a disaster wearing wicking toe socks.
This year Jamie plans to make it all the way up to the summit of Mt. Whitney to complete what some say is a "true" Badwater adventure (pending permit approvals).
It is with great pride that we will be on Jamie's feet the entire way.
